Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö: Better functioning services

The aim was to build a website that gathers separately hanging services into a single, clear and smoothly functioning entity.

Arcusys carried out the revision of the public website for Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö aiming to improve the usability both from the content provider and end-user points of view.

Customer orientation in the website design was paramount for Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö. The aim was to build a website that gathers separately hanging services into a single, clear and smoothly functioning entity. In addition to the usability, it was also particularly important to take notice of the high quality execution of the look for the website and products.

The work itself started with a change in the publishing system. The demand was for a system that would be executable at reasonable costs and which would enable continuous development, also in the future. Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö chose Liferay, the open source portal platform, as the system, enabling further development and modification of the website cost effectively.

"It was important when selecting the partner that the supplier has adequate resources, good practices, expertise in the area, as well as an understanding of the customer expectations," Kimmo Tolvanen, R&D and Marketing Manager describes the supplier selection.
