Team Valamis has entered the Global Learning XPRIZE, which is a competition to develop tablet based, open source and scalable software that will enable children in developing countries to teach themselves basic reading, writing and arithmetic within 18 months. Team Valamis, headquartered in Joensuu, Finland is among 198 teams from 39 countries that are competing for the $15 million prize.

The Global Learning XPRIZE is a perfect opportunity for us to challenge our entire organization and be part of something bigger, such as eliminating illiteracy from the world", says Janne Hietala, the Chief Commercial Officer from Arcusys.
